ROY ROGERS

100TH BIRTHDAY

CELEBRATION

NOVEMBER 5, 2011

Was celebrated with over 175 people present to enjoy the movies, talk by Don K. Reynolds, "Little Beaver", telephone calls from Roy Rogers Jr., and Cheryl Rogers-Barnett.  Two birthday cakes were served during the day along with free Sarsaparilla provided by KCCU-FM radio.

The silent auction was held and was a great success.  We thank everyone who donated items and those who participated in the auction.

We were pleased that there were people waiting at the door when the Museum opened that Saturday morning and they were ready to get their popcorn sarsaparilla and watch the movies.

The following are photos taken from that day:

NEW DISPLAY......

The museum received the Lone Ranger outfit; shirt, pants, boots, mask and scarf from Donald Cagle of Clyde, Ohio after he attended as one of the Look - a - likes at our last Music and Film Festival.  It took us awhile to locate a mannequin that would do the Lone Ranger justice, but now he is in a display case.  The hat was donated by Stanley Rater of Huskey Hat Company of Wichita Falls, Texas.  We are grateful to these donors for adding to our collection.

        Hi YO Silver

We are getting a lot of positive comments on our Lone Ranger Display.  Wouldn't be nice to have a Tonto in the display case beside him, like we always remember him?  If you or someone you know can donate a Tonto outfit, please contact the Museum at esweeten@arbuckleonline.com or bluerooster43@yahoo.com.
