After many years of celebrating the legacy of the singing cowboys, the Gene Autry Oklahoma Film & Music Festival held its last event this past September.  The reason is primarily one of failing health of the director of the Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum Elvin Sweeten and his wife Flo, who spent many an hour doing the clerical work that the event demanded.

The Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum will continue to be open, with work that supports day-to-day operations provided by a staff clerical person and volunteers, but the multi-faceted Film & Music Festival will not be happening in the future.

Elvin and Flo wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have participated in the Festival in one way or another through the years, as attendees, performers, guests, volunteers, etc.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to have a souvenir of earlier festivals, you might be interested in ordering copies of videos from the 2008 event (see box below).
