We look forward to your visit to the Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum. You may wish to bring your children and grandchildren or parents and grandparents, whatever the case may be. We guarantee to bring back old memories of your Western heroes or make new memories of a very special part of America's history. Hours of Operation The Museum is open each day, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. It is also closed the week between Christmas and New Year's Day each year. Location To get to the Museum from Interstate 35, take exit 40 and go east on Highway 53. Watch for the Museum sign on the right shortly after you pass the "Melody Ranch" campground and dirtbike facility (on the south side of Highway 53). Turn right (south) and go south 1.5 miles on Happy Trails Road. Turn east (left) on Tumbleweed Road and go about 1.8 miles east. You'll approach the museum from the back side of the building. Drive around the building, make a short turn to the left and park in front of the Museum. From north or east of Gene Autry, you'll approach the town from the east. Just after the railroad track, turn left (south) and travel a few blocks through the small town until you see the sign for the Museum telling you to turn right. Go up the hill until you see the Museum (across from the Baptist Church) and park in front of the building. Tour Groups We welcome tour groups of all types and sizes. We do, however, ask that you call or e-mail us ahead of time, so that we may serve you better. If you'd like, we will recommend a nearby restaurant. We can also recommend motels and other activities in nearby communities. Mingle at the Museum There's a new program here at the Museum designed for groups who may never have visited the Museum before to enjoy a free reception for their group. Just give us at call at 580-294-3047 for more information. The Blue Rooster, the Museum's Gift Shop In our Gift Shop, you'll find an array of souvenirs of your visit with the Museum, including photos and posters of the old film stars, CDs of their recordings, videos of their movies and books about their lives. In addition you'll find CDs of many of the entertainers who perform at the annual Film & Music Festival, plus a variety of accent pieces for your home, jewelry, clothing items, cards and gifts and much more. (Remember, if you are a higher level member of the Museum, you'll receive a 10 percent discount on all the items you purchase in the gift shop.) |
